If you’re looking for sensory-friendly socks that don’t rub, don’t dig in, and don’t have a weird toe-seam ridge thingy, meet Panda Food. Panda Food is a small British bamboo sock brand, designed in London, that’s just landed on our radar (and in our sock drawer).

So what’s actually different about them?

Loads of bamboo socks lean on the fabric as the whole story talking about them being soft and breathable with some eco-friendly-sounding stuff thrown in for good measure. Panda Food’s angle is a bit different and it’s the construction of the socks that stands out.

Every pair is knitted fully seamless, so there’s no ridge across the toes to rub you raw on a long walk, and the cuff is non-binding, which means there’s no tight elastic line dent left on your legs after a day of wear.

Everything from Panda Food is delivered in plastic-free packaging, which fits nicely with how we try our best to cut down on plastic waste when making purchasing decisions – paper or cardboard packaging always feels that bit more premium too in my opinion.

The ones for camping and walking

The walking sock range is cushioned through the sole and toe, providing additional cushioning support where you actually need it. What we actually think

We’ve been wearing ours for almost 2 weeks now (not the same pair I hasten to add), and they are proving to be a versatile hit. As a proud member of Gen X, I’ll wear crew socks pulled all the way up my leg never, because, frankly, it’s a look that’s none of my business. I wear my socks crumpled, which I guess is probably a very 1980s aesthetic, but I don’t really care.

They’ve been worn on runs and on riding hacks, they’ve come along to meditation circles for the post-session comedown (soft, warm and snuggly is the vibe), and they’ve also proved themselves to be the perfect camping socks too, providing warmth and maximum snuggle value on cold evenings.
